Epson Laser
Projector Repair
The UK's dedicated laboratory for Epson EB-L and EB-PU series. We repair phosphor wheels, liquid cooling loops, and optical engines that others write off.
Laser Source Diagnostics
We differentiate between Laser Bank failure (rare) and Driver Board failure (common), saving you £1000s in repair costs.
Laser Reliability vs. The Reality
Epson’s "Fit and Forget" laser projectors are engineering marvels, rated for 20,000 hours of maintenance-free operation. However, "maintenance-free" refers to the light source, not the entire machine. In the real world, cooling fans seize, filters clog with chalk dust, and liquid cooling pumps degrade.
Unlike generic repair centres that simply quote for a new optical engine (often exceeding the value of the unit), our engineers strip these units down to the component level. We rebuild cooling chains, replace individual phosphor motors, and perform chip-level repairs on power supply boards to extend the life of your fleet.

Airflow/Filter Blockage
The Issue: Chalk dust and whiteboard markers create a fine particulate that bypasses standard filters. This coats the internal optics, causing overheating and dull images.
Our Fix: Ultrasonic cleaning of the optical path and installation of sealed, dust-resistant HEPA filters.
Extending School Budgets
Schools and Universities invested heavily in Epson’s laser range (like the EB-L200F or EB-735Fi ultra-short throw) expecting zero maintenance. However, after 3-4 years, we frequently see these units shutting down with thermal errors.
Often, the projector is not broken; it is suffocating. The fine dust found in classrooms cakes onto the heatsinks, insulating them. The projector detects this rise in core temperature and shuts down to protect the laser bank. We offer bulk collection and "Summer Holiday" servicing to strip, clean, and recertify entire fleets, preventing mid-term failures.
Book Education Fleet ServiceReliability for the Boardroom
In the corporate environment, the Epson EB-L500, L600, and L700 series are workhorses. The failure mode here is often different: intermittent power issues or connectivity drops (HDMI handshake failures) caused by heat stress on the mainboard.
A projector that cuts out 10 minutes into a client presentation is a liability. We perform deep diagnostics on the power regulation circuits (DC-DC converters). We also calibrate the colour uniformity, ensuring your brand colours look correct on screen, correcting the "yellowing" whites that can occur as polarizers age even in laser models.

Ballast/Mainboard Voltage
The Issue: Random shutdowns or "Auto Iris" grinding noises. Often caused by thermal expansion breaking solder joints on the mainboard.
Our Fix: Board-level reflow and fan upgrades to Silent MagLev bearings.

Laser Bank Fail
Liquid Cooling/Pump Failure
The Issue: These 10,000+ lumen beasts use liquid cooling. The coolant degrades over time, clogging the radiator and causing the laser bank to overheat and shut down.
Our Fix: Complete flush and vacuum refill of the Glycol cooling loop, pump replacement, and radiator chemical clean.
Specialist Liquid Cooling Service
The Epson EB-L1000, L12000, L20000, and the newer EB-PU series rely on a sealed liquid cooling loop to manage the immense heat from the laser diode bank. Unlike a PC water cooler, these systems are intricate and pressurized.
When the "Laser" light flashes red, it often means the pump has cavitated or the fluid has turned acidic and clogged the micro-fins of the heat exchanger. We are one of the few independent centres in the UK with the capability to drain, chemically flush, and vacuum-refill these cooling loops with industrial-grade corrosion-inhibited glycol. This service restores the projector to full brightness and thermal stability for a fraction of the replacement cost.

Error Logging
We interrogate the projector's internal memory to find historical thermal peaks and shutdown codes.
Optical Clean
Phosphor wheels and diffusion layers are cleaned in a static-free environment to restore brightness.
Cooling Flush
For liquid-cooled units, we drain and replenish the thermal fluid to factory pressure specs.
Laser Soak
A 24-hour full-power run test to ensure the laser bank maintains stable temperature.
